Bottle Kids

This film came out when I was ten. I saw it in the theater and fell in love with how it looked and how beautiful Leonardo was and how I wished it would have ended differently, though if it had, it wouldn’t have been as good. I knew that. I got ahold of the soundtrack and listened to track eleven, Talk Show Host by Radiohead, on repeat in the room I shared with my sister at my great-grandparents’ house on the farm. I remembered the scene in the movie when the song played, when Romeo is roaming around a depressing landscape, exiled, wondering what’s up with Juliet.

The cd had a sticker that said you could find special features if you put it in a computer, but I didn’t have one, so I rode down the long dirt road to my cousin Sarah’s house and we looked at the special features, some stills and maybe other things, and she only wanted to listen to Lovefool, which I was sick of by then.
